2. responsibilities

2.1. be competent uses of laboratory systems

2.2. ensure that the systems they use are properly maintained and calibrated (if appropriate)

2.3. recognize opportunities to improve lab operations through system changes, automation, integration

2.4. be aware of new developments in lab systems within their discipline and how the lab might benefit

2.5. anticipate the need for informatics additions / development / improvements

2.6. provide useful input to product / user requirements

2.7. evaluate products / systems for lab use
