2. Accessing the Services and Programs

2.1. Services and programs are easily accessible and open directly to the community that it’s based in. The Journey coordinates events, camps, school programs, and supports the community through trials, tribulations and tragedy. Information regarding programs and events for The Journey is available on their website.

3. Why the Journey is important for this community?

3.1. The community has seen much tragedy in the recent years. In 2013 a nine year old boy was shot and killed in his living room. In 2014 eighteen families were displaced after a fire broke out where a ten year old boy lost his life. The Journey was there and distributed over $357,000 to those residents.

4.1. The Journey Neighbourhood Centre is committed to bringing hope and transformation to the Ardglen/Orenda communities, walking alongside children, youth and families as they take positive steps in their lives.  Our mission is realized through: • Relevant Programs • Transforming Properties • Advocating For Residents

5. The Journey and Equity, Inclusion and Awareness of Cultural Diversity

5.1. The Journey supports families of their community. They reflect the characteristics of the culturally responsive educators and address equity, inclusion and awareness of cultural diversity. The Journey knows it’s community and the families living there. They are aware of their needs and strive to support all to reach their potential. The Programs are geared towards all age group and abilities from the very young to programs for seniors. They run academic programs (such as the homework club), sports camps, art activities to cooking lessons and movie nights. The Journey is committed to the well-being, happiness and success of this community. The Journey is committed to making a difference!
