Lester Levenson's Six Steps to Freedom
by Sally Underwood
1. Step 1: You must want Freedom/Imperturbability more than you want approval, control, security and separation. Or, put another way, you must want Freedom/Imperturbability more than you want the world to be real (more than you want the world)
1.1. (21/12/16) I want drinking and fun more than I want freedom
1.2. (21/12/16) I want to be with him and live in Berlin more than I want freedom
1.3. (21/12/16) I want approval and to join in with my friends and be like them more than I want freedom
1.4. (21/12/16) I want the approval and safety of my family that I think I get by being what I have always been than freedom
1.5. (21/12/16) I want obvious signs of power and redemption such as money and property more than I want freedrom
1.6. (28/12/16) I want other people to be wrong and me to be better than them more than I want freedom
2. Step 2: Decide you can do the method and be Free/Imperturbable
3. Step 3: See that all feelings culminate in the want of approval, wanting control and wanting to be safe. See that immediately and immediately let go of the want (s).
3.1. 04/01/17 Jealousy is wanting to control what other people have to make me feel better. I look at facebook and I turn the pixels into signs of my inadequacy , how frightening my future is without that house/family/job. This all happening inside my head and it is triggered by seeing pixels on the screen and interpreting them into wants.
3.2. 04/01/07 Wanting to be right when I am trading is wanting control and wanting be safe, seeing separation everywhere as me against the world
4. Step 4: Make releasing constant.
5. Step 5: If you are stuck, let go of wanting to change the stuckness
6. Step 6: Each time you release, you are lighter and happier. If you release continually, you’ll be continually lighter and happier.
7. BEFORE all of this though, and following in Lester's footsteps, you need to turn the past into LOVE
7.1. which means being able to remember event or decisions and feel nothing, no cringing, no flinching, no sighing, just total equanimity
7.2. which means being able to enjoy what anyone else has without thinking 'if only..'
