3.1. Decrease the hepatic synthesis of cholesterol. Inhibit enzyme HMG CoA reductase

3.2. Inhibition of enzyme also causes up-regulation of hepatic LDL receptors allowing the liver to remove more cholesterol from blood causing a decrease in LDL cholesterol.

4. Bile acid sequestrants
