1. Impact on Global Neighbors:

1.1. Production: This is harming waterways in areas such as Indonesia, China, and Bangladesh (see Environmental Impact section).

1.2. Labor: By outsourcing, it allows underage workers as well as extremely low wages.

1.3. Working Conditions: Many of these factories that employ underage or low paid workers also have many negative impacts on these workers health. The toxins cause illness frequently. Also, many times the buildings are constructed unsafely and can result in injuries and death.

2. Economic Policies:

2.1. 1. Lack of Labor Laws in countries that produce/ manufacture these clothes: This allows for companies like Forever21 to make the clothes at a "cheaper" cost. ("Cheaper"- in terms of $).

3. Affordability to me:

3.1. Outsourcing Manufacturing: Allows for cheaper labor lowering the overall cost of production

3.2. Technology: Machinery used to create is pieces allow for production to move faster resulting in a lower overall production cost

3.3. Employees: They are normally teenagers who are paid minimum wage and are unaware of employee rights

4. Environmental Impacts:

4.1. Cotton: This plant uses excessive amounts of water. It also is a plant that depends strongly on chemicals such as pesticides.

4.2. Toxic Dyes: Many clothes are dyed in Indonesia and many rivers are polluted because they are lined with textile factories. These dyes such as nonylphenol not only disturb the surrounding environments, but also remains in the garments that are made with it. These dyes also use vast amounts of water

4.3. Clothing Waste: With fast fashion being the way most consumers shop, it is resulting in large amounts of clothing disposal landing in our landfills and eventually our oceans.

4.4. Globalization: Because many products are manufactured overseas, it results in large amounts of fuel and oil used for transportation. This increases the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and toxins in our oceans.
