1. polynomial - a monomial or a sum or difference of monomials.
2. Polynomials have no variables in denominators or exponents, no roots or absolute values of variables, and all variables have whole number exponents.
3. leading coefficient - is the coefficient of the first term.
4. x-intercept - the horizontal number line that divides the coordinate plane.
5. root of an equation- the x-coordinate of a point where a graph intersects the x-axis.
6. maximum of a function - the y-value of the highest point on the graph of the function.
7. coefficient - the numerical factor in a term.
8. like terms - terms that contain the same variables raised to the same powers .
9. monomial - number or a product of numbers and variables with whole number exponents.
10. A polynomial can be classified by its number of terms.
11. degree of a polynomial - given by the term with the greatest degree.
