1. Visual Art - art which appeals to our visual senses such as photography and painting
2. Creole - language developed from a mixture of different languages (e.g Singlish)
3. Slang - informal language that is usually spoken rather than written
4. Literary Arts : refers to written works such as poetry and novels
5. Performance Art - artist uses their body to perform a series of actions
6. Performing Arts - creative activity that is being performed in front of an audience (dance & musicals)
7. Art : expression or application of creativity, imagination and human skills usually in visual forms such as painting
8. The Arts : refers to the different branches of creative activity such as art, literature, dance, music etc.
9. Modern Art - art produced from 1850s onwards (includes a vast range of art forms such as installation art)
10. Dialect - form of language peculiar to a specific region
11. Colloquial - words and phrases commonly used in conversations rather than in formal context
12. Lingua Franca - term used for a common language which is adopted between speakers with different native languages
