1.6.1. I now understand that this is because transitions into different classrooms throughout the day can be difficult for students on the spectrum.

3. MENTAL HEALTH

3.1. A supportive school environment is linked to improving behaviour, academic rigor, and mental health.

3.2. As teachers we are the weather we bring to the classroom

3.4. Looking into developmental stages can provide insight on how to best support your students

3.5. There are many ways to support mental health, and as teachers we should provide multiple resources to assist students

3.7. It can sometimes be difficult to tell if someone is suffering with mental health issues

3.8. There are different levels of mental health issues that should be addressed and acknowledged with the same intensity physical health issues are addressed.

4. DISABILITY

4.1. Using assistive technology in the classroom can support learning for individuals with physical or learning disabilities (LDs).

4.2. Creating less distracting environments and having a schedule on the board are examples of how teachers can support students with LDs with executive functioning (the ability to shift, inhibit, and update information)

4.3. Parents are a great resource that can help understand LDs a student may have and how we can best support them

4.4. Disabilities can be mental or physical

4.5. Physical and mental disabilities can limit how students work in regular school environments

4.6. Special accommodations need to be made in order to help individuals with disabilities be successful in school

4.7. My highschool supported students with physical disability with elevators. I'm curious to know how this works in low income schools
