1. Dyslexia

1.1. Dyslexia is a LD that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words. Accommodations in the classroom could be using a tape recorder to record lessons, presenting small amounts of work, provide additional practice activities, and highlight essential information. These are only a few.

2. Non-Verbal

2.1. This LD can range from visual spatial, cognitive processing, language, motor, social, behavioral, and emotional. There are many ways to accommodate this LD in the classroom but some are having predictable routines and be flexible.

3. Oral/Written Language

3.1. This LD affects an individual's understanding of what they read or spoken language. Some accommodations in the classroom could be allow more time to complete classwork, modify activities to be less difficult, design tests and presentations that are appropriate for the student.

4. Dyscalculia

4.1. This affects the ability to understand numbers and learn math facts. One way to accommodate this learning disability in the classroom is by making sure the student has all the materials they need, extra time on tests or classwork, and helping them overcome their anxiety about math.

5. Language or Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)
