1.1. Hygiene

1.1.1. Better hygiene facilities to keep the prisoners clean and hygienic

1.2. Overcrowding

1.2.1. Not overcrowd prisons however there are still 71 out of 118 prisons still overcrowded

1.3. Exercise

1.3.1. Give prisoners more chance to exercise their brain such as more recreational activity

1.4. Treatment

1.4.1. Stop treating prisoners like animals and more like human beings

1.5. Communication

1.5.1. Talk to prisoners more to find out problems and understand their needs

2. Why went wrong?

2.1. Overcrowding

2.1.1. Almost double the prisoners to the capacity. 2/3 prisoners to a single cell suited to 1 person

2.2. Poor hygiene

2.2.1. Prisoners taking a number 1 and number 2 in a bucket with others in their cell

2.3. Lack of exercise

2.3.1. Only 1 hour of exercise per day. Not giving the brain enough chance to work

2.4. Guards treatment of prisoners

2.4.1. Guards mistreated prisoners by beating them unnecessarily

2.5. Victorian style prison

2.5.1. Prison was built in the Victorian time and had not been modernised

2.6. Prisoners not getting listened to

2.6.1. Prisoners were complaining but their complaints were not being addressed

3. What could have prevented this incident

3.1. Better hygiene

3.1.1. Proper toilets and sanitisation

3.2. Better communication

3.2.1. Prisoners should have been listened to more and guards should have no treated prisoners as bad as they did

3.3. Exercise

3.3.1. Prisoners should have been given more time to do productive stuff

3.4. Space

3.4.1. Either added more cells or not talked in as many prisoners to keep the prison from overcrowding
