FUEL INJECTION

1. The fuel injection is a technology used in the engine of vehicle to mix the fuel with air before combustion. In a fuel injection system, air is forced through nozzles.

2. The injection system is present in diesel and petrol engines.

3. The difference between indirect and direct injection is: indirect injection is a fuel system in which fuel in the form of a finely atomised jet from an injector is not injected directly into the combustion chamber inside the cylinder, but into the intake manifold in the case of petrol engines, while in diesel engines it is sprayed into a pre-chamber or auxiliary chamber.

4. There are two types of injection in vehicle engines: the indirect fuel injection and the direct fuel injection.

5. indirect injection system was used until the 1990s, together with pump-injector injection.

6. The direct injection system is the main system used in most motor vehicles today, as opposed to indirect injection.
