2.1. o Create a simple brochure and provide it before the meeting

2.4. o Have a “jargon monitor”

2.5. o Ask parents questions to check their understanding

2.6. o Establish that participants must stay for the whole meeting

2.7. o Provide list for parents of each person participating and their role

3. 5 Phases

3.1. o Intake and assessment: family members and educators determine the needs of each participant regarding the educational relationship

3.2. o Selection of goals: specific goals are jointly developed on an individual family basis and helps shapes family involvement

3.3. o Planning and implementing activities: involve implementing the activities designed to accomplish the goals outlined in the previous phase

3.4. o Evaluation of activities: input from families as well as educators and helps to answer questions such as making sure the plan is being following

3.5. o Review: Allows for review of the process as well as the product of the collaborative relationship and ask questions such as what changes need to be made in the process
