1. How is it measured?
1.1. "The validation process includes the assembling of evidence to support the use and interpretation of test scores based on the concepts the test is designed to measure, known as constructs." (CSAI, 2018)
2. Why is it needed?
2.1. Valid assessment results are needed in order for educators to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding instruction (CSAI, 2018)
3. Relationship between validity and reliability
3.1. Validity is typically viewed as more important than reliability when it comes to assessments because valid tests assess the how accurately the objective is measured whereas reliable tests measure how consistent the tests results are (Mertler, 2017).
4. Student motivation
4.1. Student engagement and motivation can have varying effects on the validity of assessment results (Wise, 2014).

6. What is validity?
6.1. Validity has to deal with how results are used for later decisions (Mertler, 2017).
6.2. "The validity of an instrument is the idea that the instrument measures what it intends to measure." (The Graide Network, 2019)
6.3. Most relevant categories of validity are criterion, content, and construct.
7. Construct
7.1. This measurement ensures that the results from an assessment can be interpreted and used effectively to make data-informed decisions (The Graide Network, 2019).
8. Criterion
8.1. If the assessment correlates to another assessment which has been determined to be valid, then it is likely the assessment in question is also valid (The Graide Network, 2019).
8.2. This is typically determined by means of statistical computations (The Graide Network, 2019).
9. Content
9.1. Qualitative measurement regarding all aspects of the objective (The Graide Network, 2019).
