1. Identifying Key Details
1.1. Students will be able to identify key details in a text by listening to or reading a passage and highlighting or recalling important facts or information.
1.1.1. "Detail Detectives" give students a magnifying glass and allow them to become a detective when finding a certain amount of key details in a text.

2. Asking Relevant Questions
2.1. Students will be able to generate questions about a text by using words like "Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How" to ask meaningful questions that expand their understanding of the text.
2.1.1. "Question Web" students create a question web in the center of the web they write the title of the text, around this web they use different prompts, such as the "Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How".

3. Answering Questions with Text Evidence
3.1. Students will be able to answer questions about a text by referencing specific words or sections of the text to support their responses.
3.1.1. "Text Hunt" provide students with pre-written questions about a text they just read. Students will then go on a "text hunt" where they have to locate the part of the text that answers each question.

4. Improving Comprehension Skills
4.1. Students will be able to improve comprehension by discussing key details from a text and explaining how these details contribute to the meaning or message of the text.
4.1.1. "Storyboard Summary" after reading a story students can create a storyboard that visually summarize the key details of a text they read.
