Pre-Assessments for Differentiation 저자: Mind Map: Pre-Assessments for Differentiation

1. Level 1 Students

1.1. These students will be set up on their own individual tablets. They will play a game on ABCya! called "Fuzz Bugs Patterns." They will be able to move at their own pace and if they finish the kindergarten version their is a first grade version they can move to.

2. Level 2 students

2.1. Since it is an even number, these 12 students would be working in partners around the room. These students will be working on creating their own patterns without a template to copy. I will give them a list of patterns that I expect them to create, such as AB, ABB, and ABC. Together these students will create multiple types of each pattern using unifix cubes and then copy their patterns into a blank pattern template book that I give them. They will each have to color in their own blank pattern template. The teacher will collect them at the end of centers to check their booklet and see what patterns they created and check for correctness.

3. Level 3 Students

3.1. These students would be put in a group that would work with the teacher. To get comfortable copying patterns I would get unifix cubes and corresponding pattern cards. These cards serve as a template that the students need to copy. As they completed making their own copy of the pattern I would ask each individual student what type of pattern they had made. Each student would have a paper that listed the different types of patterns and an visual example that the students could refer to to help them answer. I would have the practice and practice copying patterns. Once they seemed to be getting comfortable enough I would ask each student to create their own pattern. This wold be a good way to assess them to see if they are grasping the concept or if they need more help.
