1. 1) Define the Problem

1.1. You borrow a device (iPhone, laptop, etc.) from a friend, and accidentally break it.

1.1.1. Text book, exercises 34, 35, 36, 37

2. 5) Decide and Act

2.1. Depending on what kind of person you are, you will either choose the good or bad option

2.1.1. bad - unloyal, unreliable, and a liar

2.1.2. good - true friend, loyal, trustworthy

3. 6) Evaluate the Results

3.1. Good

3.1.1. If you chose this option you would probably end up not getting in as much trouble, and would likely still have your friend

3.2. Bad

3.2.1. If you chose this option you will likely be considered a coward for not owning up about the damaged caused, and will likely loose a friend

4. 2) Explore the Alternatives

4.1. Lie

4.1.1. put it in someone else's bag or locker, causing the blame to fall on them

4.1.2. Ask someone else to give it to the person - so your friend thinks it was them and not you

4.1.3. Deny you ever had anything to do with breaking the device

4.2. Tell the Truth

4.2.1. Give them back the device and explain what happened

4.2.2. Be willing to pay for any repairs it may need

5. 3) Consider the Consequences

5.1. Lie

5.1.1. if you lie the problem could affect so many more people than just you and the owner of the device

5.2. Tell the Truth

5.2.1. this problem would stay your problem instead of other people's problem

5.2.2. your friend could end up not forgiving you for breaking it

5.2.3. have to pay for the repairs out of your own money probably

6. 4) Identify your Values

6.1. Am I a Liar?

6.1.1. Affect how people will see you in the future - people may no longer trust you with things or secrets - and you may feel remorse for your actions

6.2. Or a True Friend?

6.2.1. Will become a better friend and feel better about yourself
