2.1. Another highly useful way to ensure that students feel known and appreciated is to notice their participation

2.1.2. Develop good relationships with teach- ers of "specials" and learn about the extracurricular activities students are participated
2.1.3. Read the school newspaper, newsletter, and bulletins for information and announcements about students who are participating in extracurricular activities.
2.1.4. Compliment students on important achievements in and outside of school.
3. Interacting with students as individuals
3.1. It almost goes without saying that interacting with students as individuals is important if you want to demonstrate that you are personally interested in them.
3.1.1. Meet students at the door as they come into class and say hello to each student,
3.1.2. Find time to talk informally with students about their lives and their interests.
