1. Ascension to Presidency

1.1. Andrew served for a large while in the military, and eventually was elected to be general of his local militia.

1.2. Jackson was also a practiced lawyer; though not the most eloquent, he often won the cases he handled.

1.3. Jackson was considered a populist, and won most his support from the more common type folk who had little voice before his election.

2. Childhood

2.1. Andrew Jackson was born in 1767 in what was then known as the Carolinas.

2.2. He was born into a family of Scottish and Irish immigrants, and grew up in an area ravaged by conflict between colonists and Native Americans.

2.3. Both his brother and mother died as a result of a British conflict.

3. Presidency

3.1. Andrew Jackson is infamously known for his direct execution of the Trail of Tears, which displaced thousands of Native Americans from Florida.

3.2. Jackson had an attempted assassination attempt while in office.

3.3. Jackson appealed to the masses, and used this quite often within his presidency.
