1.1. Definition: Testing that is periodic and done throughout the year and provides little to no student feedback.
1.2. Examples: Benchmark every six weeks & Chapter tests

2.1. Definition: Are used by teachers to measure student achievement gaps and strengths, weaknesses, knowledge and skills.

3.1. Definition: Are used when testing a large chunk of learning, they can be used to review what you want them to do while also using a criteria to ensure high quality.
3.2. Examples: Final Exams & Research Projects
4. FORMATIVE
4.1. Definition: A way to gather evidence of the student learning can also be used to provide feedback and adjust instructional strategies to provide enhance their achievement.
4.2. Examples: Discussion & Quiz
5. PERFORMANCE
5.1. Definition: This assessment is used to measure the students ability to apply knowledge and skills from the unit taught. Also may require students to perform a task instead of a regular test.
