1. Intro into Element 6
1.1. 3 parts to this element: ID critical-input experiences, visual activities, and pause time.
1.1.1. Critical-input experiences are elements critical to achieving learning goals
1.1.1.1. Only 2 or 3 goals per unit to help students and teacher focus
1.1.2. Visual Activities to help show students or lead them to the critical information
1.1.3. Pause Time is when teachers indicate important points and give students time to reflect.
2. Info about the Strategies
2.1. Adding a sound or word on a power point or presentation that is the alert for a critical experiences
2.2. Be consistent in patters and colors for important text. Example in a parts of speech lesson do all verbs one color and nouns the other.
2.3. Pause time can give time to reflect on old info as well as understanding new info
3. Tech Ideas
3.1. Use tech to create survey tools to allow students to rate or show level of understanding of critical input experiences
3.2. Technology is a great way to provide visual cues to catch students attention
3.2.1. Tech can also help stimulate visual and auditory senses to increase engagement and understanding
3.3. Tech tools can encourage student to reiterate what they understand to be essential during pause time.
3.4. Count down clock to end pause time on the board so students know when to be ready for the next info of the class.

4.1. Introduce the idea of Critical Info to students before jumping into the idea.
