1.1.1. The people of Indus valley were well organized. All the evidence suggest that they had a strong central government. People do not know what kind of government Indus valley had but they do know it was very unlikely that a king ruled. DONE

1.2.1. People farmed along the Indus River which grew a lot of food and grew the population. The first civilization in India grew around the valley of the Indus River. The flooded river left rich soil behind which led to plentiful crops. DONE

1.3.1. The Indus writing system is still much of a mystery. People found symbols on stone in the Indus valley but there are too few examples to know what it means. DONE

2.1.1. China's government is a dynasty which is a family that hold power for years and is passed down from generation to generation. The rulers helped grow farming which meant more food. With extra food they were able to support more soldiers so they attacked neighboring land and gained more territory. DONE

2.2.1. China's geography was mostly rugged mountains and vast dessert which was hard but people found the resources they needed in china's river valleys. DONE

3.1. How do people or scientists know that ancient civilization writing actually means what they think they mean?

4.1. statement about government

4.1.1. The first Pharaoh of Egypt became ruler in the 3000s B.C. They had a social pyramid that showed who was highest in a community. The pharaohs the highest in the social pyramid rules everyone below them. They also had a Bureaucracy which is a group of officials who handle business of government. DONE

4.2.1. In Ancient Egypt the Nile River was the only thing keeping Egypt from being a total hot and dry dessert. DONE

4.3.1. In Ancient Egypt most people did not know how to write. They used hieroglyphics which is a drawing or symbol that represents a word or a sound. People who knew how to write were valued for their knowledge. DONE

4.4.1. Ancient Egyptians developed writing by at around the same time Sumerians developed their own system of writing. People aren’t sure if Ancient Egyptians or Sumerians developed writing first. DONE

5.1.1. As the city-states grew people started arguing which sometimes led to war. After a war the leader of the war would have to go back to a normal life but some kept power. Those leaders became Sumeria's first kings. DONE

5.2.1. The first civilizations in the world began to form in Sumeria. There was rich soil help with the growth of many grains and vegetable. DONE

5.3.1. Sumeria's writing system evolved over time and became better. It started with pictographs on clay and by 3400 B.C. they created Cuneiform which is a system of writing that uses shapes in triangular form to stand for ideas or things. DONE

5.4.1. The world’s first civilization began to form here thousand of years ago. This civilization was Sumer. DONE
