1. Increased Learning Among Gifted Learners
1.1. Mr. Kiggan(@Kiggan.Mr) is a cool teacher that is always incorporating new things in his classroom. His blog showed how he used math with percentages, models and graph for project based learning is his classroom. I felt that his creativeness with PBL for math was something that I could take away and incorporate in my classroom and also can increase learning and motivation.
1.2. Class Craft(@classcraftgames)drew my interest because it tweeted that project motivation can increase student motivation and decrease retention. I especially like this tweet because it focus was on all students and not just a certain group.
1.3. Georgia Council of Teachers of (@GCTM) Mathematics review showed that project based learning can be used to increase learning for all students. The was especially interesting because it did not just focus of one class of students put all.
1.4. Journal of Math and Art(@mathsart) This peered reviewed journal deals with the relationships between math and arts. I though this was so important especially amongst our gifted learners. This will the opportunity to allow student to use their creativity.
1.5. Rachel Chastin(@rachelchastin8) is a teacher that uses project based learning to empower gifted learners. I though this was interesting because in her class she use PBL to create and model math strategies to us math operations to create a winter wonderland theme.
2. Promotes Differentiation
2.1. National Council of Mathematics tweeted about how project based learning is a motivational and effective approach to teaching mathematics. I found this interesting because as a teacher I want to incorporate the most effective learning strategies for my students
2.1.1. Kristen More(@moorethanjustx) is a fun teacher that utilize differentiation inside of her class. Her blog caught my interest because she uses student feedback to help with creating project based learning assignmnents.
2.2. The ignitED Teacher(@theignitEdTeach) Is teacher that has created her own organization to help other teacher incorporate math and technology inside of their classrooms. I was interested in this blog because of my interest to incorporate both inside of my classroom to help with differentiating my students inside of stations
2.3. Richard Bobinchuck(@RBobinchuck) works at Browards School System and is a part if the stem program. He implement math stations for his students to address the different learning styles. The learning stations for my caught my attention and its creativity.
2.4. Khan Academy (@khanacdemy) resource that aligns a variety of math topics with the standard curriculum. It also has was to assign learned different assignments based on their learning needs
2.5. ASCD(@ASCD) Shows a lot of insight debated research on project based learning. However, this stuck out because of its heading "Project learning was as authentic as it gets." Students took on roles as scientist and doctors and through problem-based learning, students learn how to use an iterative process of assessing what they know, identifying what they need to know, gathering information, and collaborating on the evaluation of hypotheses in light of the data they have collected.
3. Professional Development
3.1. Defined Learning(@DefinedLearning) Is an online resource that provides grades 1-12 educators with engaging project based lessons. I was interest in this blog because as a teacher who has really never incorporated PBL in my classroom I felt it could be beneficial. It focus also shows how PBL has a positive Impact on student achievement in Math.
3.2. PBLWorks(@PBLWorks)It drew my interest because it is an organization that has a blog based on helping school leaders and teacher facilitate quality PBL Learning. Furthermore it gave insight on PBL and how it can look in the math classroom with incorporating problem based
3.3. Math in middle school (@BlogLovin)this is a site that has lot of information and resources that can support math teachers. I found it to be interesting because it incorporates technology and game to make math fun for students
3.4. @EduTweetTeach is a site that I am following because I find myself not as knowledgeable about technology and could benefit from its resources. I also like it because it incorporates google and that is something that we are currently using.
3.5. We are Teachers @WeAreTeachers is a site that caught my interest because of its inspirational quotes. "Supporting Kids means supporting educators always" is a quote that they use on their blog. This touch me because as a educator the support is greatly appreciated.
