1.1. Definition: Full electronic participation in society

1.2. Appropriate: The was given permission by the teacher to use her computers in class.

1.3. Inappropriate: The student was not allowed to use any of the technology in class.

2. Digital Commerce

2.1. Definition: The buying and selling of goods online

2.2. Appropriate: The student made sure he examed the sites carefully before buying a certain product.

2.3. Inappropriate: The student tried buying a product from a strange website but was given a virus when he tried to purchase.

3. Digital Etiquette

3.1. Definition: The standards of conduct expected by other digital technology users

3.2. Appropriate: The student made a drug free poster using the internet to help stop drug use and some people decided to stop doing drugs cause of this poster.

3.3. Inappropriate: An unknown person was messeging the student and the student continued to talk to the unknown person and told this person his secrets and the next day his reputation was ruined.

4. Digital Communnication

4.1. Definition: The electronic exchange of information

4.2. Appropriate: The student made sure he blogs with only people he knows and no strangers.

4.3. Inappropriate: The student received an e-mail from someone she did not recognize and continued to open it and afterwards she discovered she had a virus.

5. Digital Law

5.1. Defenition; The legal rights and restrictions governing technology use.

5.2. Appropriate: Jerry went and bought the album off of itunes using a 10 dollar card he bought.

5.3. Inappropiate: Josh downloaded an album off the internet illegally.

6. Digital Rights and Responsibilities

6.1. Definition; The privileges and freedoms extended to all digital technology users, and the behavioral expectations that come with them.

6.2. Appropriate: Jerry took a video of his friend but before he uploaded it he asked his friend if it was okay.

6.3. Inappropiate: Josh took a picture of his teacher and uploaded it to his blog with out permission.

7. Digital Health and Wellness

7.1. Definition: The elements of physical and psychological well-being related to digital technology use.

7.2. Appropriate: Jerry only uses the computer while he is at work and does other stuff when he gets home.

7.3. Inappropiate: Josh sits on the computer all day, every day playing computer games and not going outside.

8. Digital Security

8.1. Definition: The precautions that all technology users must take to guarantee their personal safety and the security of their network.

8.2. Appropriate: Jerry went to a store and bought a fire wall and had it installed.

8.3. Inappropiate: Josh went on a random website and dowloaded a fake fire wall for free.

9. Digital Literacy

9.1. Definition: The capability to use digital technology and knowing when and how to use it.

9.2. Appropriate: Jerry took an online class to learn an extra subject he needed to know for his upcoming job.

9.3. Inappropiate: Josh took an online class because he thought it would be easier than a normal class.
