Validity and Reliability создатель Mind Map: Validity and Reliability

1. Reference:Kubiszyn, Tom. Educational Testing and Measurement: Classroom Application and Practice, 10th Edition. John Wiley & Sons

2. Validity- Ensuring that the subject being tested is measures exactly what is supposed to be measured.

2.1. Content Validity Evidence

2.1.1. " Content validity evidence is established by comparing test items with instructional objectives (e.g., with the aid of a test blueprint) to determine whether the items match or measure the objectives." (Kubiszyn 332)

2.2. Criterion-Related Validity Evidence

2.2.1. "A second form of validity evidence is criterion-related evidence. In establishing criterion- related validity evidence, scores from a test are correlated with an external criterion." (Kubiszyn 327)

2.3. Construct Validity Evidence

2.3.1. "A test has construct validity evidence if its relationship to other information corresponds well with some theory." (Kubiszyn 329)

3. Reliability-"THE RELIABILITY of a test refers to the consistency with which it yields the same rank for individuals who take the test more than once. " (Kubiszyn 338)

3.1. Test-Retest or Stability

3.1.1. "The test is given twice, and the correlation between the first set of scores and the second set of scores is determined" (Kubiszyn 33

3.2. Alternate Forms or Equivalence

3.2.1. "If there are two equivalent forms of a test, these forms can be used to obtain an estimate of the reliability of the scores from the test." (Kubiszyn 340)

3.3. Internal Consistency

3.3.1. "If the test in question is designed to measure a single basic concept, it is reasonable to assume that people who get one item right will be more likely to get other, similar items right" (Kubiszyn 340)

4. Having validity and reliability is important to learning and assessment.Having tools that can be used and referenced and used as a guide to grading and testing and determining retesting is a great asset for educators. Having these tools allows educators to grade properly and to determine if their is testing errors due to test validity and reliability or by students.
