Our Changing Earth создатель Mind Map: Our Changing Earth

1. Earth Changes All The Time

1.1. The continents were no always in the same place.

1.2. One strong heat causes many changes on the earth's surface.

2. Earth Has Several Layers

2.1. The layers of the Earth are the crust, the mantle, the outer core, and the inner core.

2.2. The crust includes the water and the dry land that we live on. It also is thinner then the rest of the layers of earth.

2.3. The mantle is thicker than the crust. The rocks are very hot. The rocks on upper part of the mantle are still solid. But in the lower mantle, all the rocks are molten/melted. The crust and the upper mantle float on the lower mantle.

2.4. The outer core is liquid, unlike the inner core. The inner core is all solid.

3. Earth's landscape doesn't change everyday

3.1. The continents were never in the same place as they are in now

3.2. All the land on Earth was always in a single continent, and scientists call the continent Pangea

3.3. 200 million years ago, Pangea broke into pieces

3.4. Over millions of years the continents drifted apart and fromed into their present positions

4. The rocks of earth's crust and upper mantle form a hard outer shell

4.1. The cracks divide earth's surface into parts called plates.

4.2. The plates float on the hot, molten rock of the lower mantle.

4.3. The plates move in different directions, at different speeds

4.4. Deep valleys, called rifts form where plates pull apart
