CHP2 Multimedia hardware and software создатель Mind Map: CHP2 Multimedia hardware and software

1. Four stages  in multimedia project 1.Planning and costing 2.Designing and Producing 3.Testing 4.Delivering

2. Planning and costing -Define objective and scope -Target users -Set the content -Prepare a short prototype Designing and producing -perform each of the task  Testing -two phases of testing :alpha testing*review the concept, format, user interface and the layout. :beta testing*to find the bugs or content errors. Delivering -package and deliver the project to the end user.

3. Intangible asset in multimedia -creativity :knowledge of hardware and software  -organization :develop an organized outline detailing the skills, time, budget, tools and resources need for the project. -communication :essential to the efficient and accurate completion of project

4. Types of authoring tools -card-and page-based authoring tools :contain media objects such as buttons and text fields :easy to move from page to page because most program use button and hot spot which allow user choose their own path -icon-and object-based authoring tools :provide a visual programming approach to organizing and presenting multimedia application -time-based authoring tools :organized along a time line :message with beginning and ending

5. Multimedia skills:main roles in the team -Project manager *oversee the entire project. -Multimedia designer *determines the design elements required to support that structure. -Interface designer *design each screen or page interface that lets user access content -Writer *create character and actor narrations -Video/Audio Specialist *focus on the audio and video production such as shooting and capturing and editing video -Multimedia Programmers  *integrate all the element all the project using the authoring system

6. Hardware (connections) -Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE) :motherboard to storage devices such as CD-ROM -Universal Serial Bus (USB) :connection used to connect a computer to devices -Firewire :connecting devices to personal computer Memory and storage devices -types of memory are :RAM-volatile storage and enables running of many applications simultaneous :ROM-nonvolatile storage.BIOS program boots up the computer resides in the ROM -Hard disks :rewriteable permanent memory -Flash or thumb drives Input devices -OCR used to convert printed matter into ASCII text files. -Digital cameras Output devices -Monitor -Printer

7. Software -Painting tools allow you to create and modified bitmap images such as Photoshop and Painting -Drawing tools allow you to create and modify vector graphics. -Image editing tools :support third party plug-in  :enhancing, blurring and lightening existing bitmap images -Sound editing tools :enable the user to see music as a waveform as well as hear sound.

8. Authoring system allow user to -organize and edit the multimedia elements of multimedia project -create interactivity -design screen layouts using templates -assembling diverse multimedia elements into a single, cohesive product.

9. Choosing an authoring tool -Editing and organizing features  :create and edit, and convert multimedia elements such as animation -Programming features :offer very high level language such as Flash -Interactivity features :gives the end user control over the content and flow of information -Performance-tuning  :should facilitate precise timing of events -Playback features :enable developers build a part of a project and then test it -Delivery features :allow the project to be executed without authoring software -Cross-platform :facilitate easy transfer across platform  -Internet-playability features  :convert their output to be delivered within the context of HTML.
