1. There is essentially an attack on Bush's faith in connecting his "gut reaction" to his faith. In my opinion I think "gut reaction" probably has deeper meaning than what meets the eye.
1.1. He also holds to the fact that Bush "demanded" faith from the people on his staff.
1.2. The author also says "His marriage may have been repaired by the power of faith, but faith was clearly having little impact on his broken career.
1.3. "Instead of learning the limitations of his Harvard training, what George W. Bush learned learned instead during thee fitful years were lessons about faith and its particular efficacy.
2. One of the biggest things talked about in this article was how Bush did not like to be doubted or questioned.
2.1. My first thought when reading this was that nobody really likes this but also that as President of the United States it can be much harder for you to make decisions than the ones who are telling you what you should do.
3. It was insinuated that overall, Bush wasn't well qualified for the job.
3.1. The author says "For nearly three decades, he had sat in classrooms, and then at mahogany tables in corporate suites, with little to contribute."
4. There was reference to any success coming to Bush only as a means of his fathers connections when it came to his business's.
5. The author of this article is heavily antagonistic towards Bush and the way he handled many things throughout his time in office.
5.1. He focuses heavily on the "instincts" Bush was said to have used in his decision making process.
5.1.1. According to the author, there were many who believed that this wasn't enough and even confronted him on the subject.
