1.2. Changes in Teaching & Learning: “We need to change both How we teach and what we teach”. 1. Effective thinking critically to include math, science, creativity, problem-solving, analyzing, habits of mind, and self-knowledge including passion and strength. 2. Effective action includes things of a growth mindset culture in which there is resilience, entrepreneurship, innovation, project management, and breaking barriers; habits of highly effective people. 3. Effective relationships and communications in all situations (1:1, teams, family, community, work), ethical, politics, citizenship, conflict resolution, and negotiation 4. Real-life accomplishments include dealing with problems; small projects, big projects, and distributed projects.

2.1. Brain Gain: He discusses the popular belief that education prepares students for the skills that society expects or has need of noting examples that once laborers were valued then workers with basic skills. Education needs to focus on developing those skills and parts of the brain that will help students be successful in the day and time.

We like choice because it is personalized to our individual preferences and he believes that by following an entrepreneurship model we can enhance strengths and change toward product oriented learning to become world class learners.

3.1. Brain Gain Cognitive complexity for brain gain is students thinking deeply about relevant and real-world problems in which they have choice and opportunity to change or make a difference.

3.2. Changes in Teaching & Learning: "Cognitive complexity is only one part of the Create Excellence Framework for real-world learning." Cognitive complexity is the level of critical thinking involved in tasks and projects. There should be opportunities for student choice and voice as part of every standard at every level.
