1. Doctors Note for your own illness (only one per semester)

1.1. Apply on the Student Hub -> Replacement assessment -> Complete all the details and attach the doctors note.

2. Doctors note for immediate family member

2.1. Apply on the student Hub -> Replacement Assessment -> complete the details and you need an affidavit stating your relationship to the immediate family member with the doctors note of the family memeber

3. Court Apperances

3.1. Apply on the student Hub -> Replacement Assessment -> Complete you details and attach the letter from the court confirming your summance to court

4. Representing the country in a international sporting event

4.1. Apply on the Student Hub -> Replacement Assessment -> Complete your details and attach a letter from your coach on a letter he'd confirming that you will be representing the country in an international sporting event.

5. Work-related reason

5.1. Apply on the Student Hub -> Replacement Assessment -> Complete your details and attach a letter from your line-manager signed on a company letterhead stating that due to work-related reason you will not be able to make the assessment.

6. Death of an Immediate family member

6.1. Apply on the Student Hub -> Replacement Assessment -> Complete your details and attach the death certificate (within 3 weeks), an affidavit from yourself stating your relationship to the deceased as well as an affidavit from another immediate family confirming your relationship to the deceased.

7. FAQ

7.1. What is the cost of a Supplementary Exam?

7.1.1. R500 per module

7.2. Do I need to apply to write exam sitting 2?

7.2.1. No if you have attempted exam sitting 1 as your final result is less than 50% then you will automatically qualify to write the next available exam sitting.

7.3. If I have fees outstanding and I am unable to see my results?

7.3.1. You need to contact the campus (012 348 2551) immediately so we can confirm for you if you have passed or if you qualify for a Supplementary exam. Alternatively we will post the Supplementary lists on the Vc Portal under Announcements.

7.4. What do I need to pass the supplementary exam?

7.4.1. All supplementary attempts are capped at 50%. The maximum amount of marks you can receive is 50%.

7.5. Does my CASS (Assignment + ICE marks) count in the supplementary marks?

7.5.1. No your CASS marks fall away and you would need to pass on your exam mark alone.

7.6. Do I have access to past papers?

7.6.1. Yes there are past papers available to all students on VClearn under the library tab. You would need to log in with your normal log in details. Search for the modules without the letter at the end of the module code. i.e BMNG5111 not BMNG5111w

7.7. What do I need to bring with to the exam venue?

7.7.1. Yes you need a postive form of identification with to get into the exam venue. i.e ID, Passport, Student Card or Driver's license

7.8. Can I choose to write in exam sitting 3?

7.8.1. If you are unable to write in exam sitting 2 then you can only miss this attempt for the reasons as stated on the left side of the document. All applications need to go through the Student Hub.
