Role of the Libraries

1. Individual Role

1.1. Need a place to study, resources to aid their study

1.2. Younger learners often use the library as a space to do homework and to learn informally.

1.3. Adults using the library are either using it to help them find a job or using it to read the newspaper.

2. Societal Role

2.1. Library is helping students and learners attain success at school.

2.2. Making newspapers available

2.3. Provide people with the space and tools to create knowledge and improve their life chances.

3. Roles for librarians in the learning and teaching context

3.1. teaching students and faculty how to access information

3.2. partnering with discipline faculty and other specialists for delivery of information and instruction
