1. Legislative branch
1.1. HOR : must be 25 years old, citizen in the US for 7 years, and resident of the state you represent.
1.1.1. 438 members for the House of Representatives.
1.1.1.1. Representatives would serve a total of 2 years
1.2. The legislative branch makes all laws, declares war, regulates interstate and foreign commerce, and controls taxing and spending policies.
1.2.1. Implied Powers : powers not stated in the Constitution.
1.2.1.1. Expressed Powers : listed out in Article 1 Section 8, clauses 1-18
1.2.2. Elastic Clause : a clause that grants congress the power to pass whatever laws are deemed “necessary and proper” to help congress carry out the enumerated powers.
1.2.2.1. Enumerated Clause : Congress may exercise the powers that the Constitution grants it, subject to the individual rights listed in the Bill of Rights.
1.3. Senate : at least 30 years old, US citizen for 9 years, and live in the state that you represent.
1.3.1. There a currently 100 members for the Senate.
1.3.1.1. A member of the senate would serve 6 total years.
2. Judicial branch
2.1. Supreme Court : no restrictions or rules to be a member of the Supreme Court.
2.1.1. They are elected by the president, and approved by the Supreme Court.
2.1.1.1. There are nine Justices.
2.1.1.1.1. Powers of the Supreme Court : their ruling cannot he appealed & they can pass bills into laws.

3. Executive branch
3.1. President : must be 35 years old, a natural born U.S. citizen, and live in the US for 14 years.
3.1.1. Term length : two terms (eight years)
3.2. Powers : veto or reject a proposal for a law, appoint federal posts, negotiate foreign treaties with other countries, appoint federal judges, and grand pardons of forgiveness for crimes.
3.2.1. Roles : head of the executive branch & chef executive
3.2.1.1. 15 Executive Departments : treasury, defense, justice, interior, agriculture, commerce, labor, health & Human Resources, housing & urban development, transportation, energy, education, veteran affairs, state, and homeland security.
3.3. Vice President : must be a natural born U.S. citizen, be at least 35 years old, and be a resident in the U.S. for at least 14 years.
3.3.1. Terms : four years, no term limit.
4. 10 Amendments :
4.1. 1st Amendment: protects the people’s freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly and the right to petition the government.
4.1.1. 2nd Amendment: the right to bear arms and a well regulated militia.
4.2. 3rd Amendment: prohibits the sheltering of soldiers in your home during peacetime.
4.2.1. 4th Amendment: protects against unreasonable search and seizures.
4.3. 5th Amendment: you can’t be trialed for a crime without grand jury indictment.
4.3.1. 6th Amendment : right of the accused, right to a speedy trial of an impartial jury, right to know the charges, right to hear and question witnesses, and right to a lawyer.
4.4. 7th Amendment: right to a trial by jury in Federal courts to settle dispute over property worth more than $20
4.4.1. 8th Amendment: protects against excessive fines and punishment.
4.5. 9th Amendment: right of the people
4.5.1. 10th Amendment: powers of the states and people. (Not specifically listed in the constitution are reserved for the states and people)
