1. Prepositional Phrase.
1.1. Preposition + object of the preposition.
2. Adverb Phrase.
2.1. It can modify a verb, an adjective or another adverb.
3. Infinitive Phrase.
3.1. It consists of an infinitive (to+ simple form of the verb) and its modifiers. It always function as an adjective, adverb or a noun.
4. Participle Phrase.
4.1. It consists of a present participle.
5. Noun Phrase
5.1. Noun+ modifiers, the modifiers can be after or before.
6. Adjective Phrase.
6.1. Modifiers a noun or pronoun.
7. Verb Phrase.
7.1. It is a combination of main verb and its auxiliaries (helping verbs) in a sentence.
8. Gerund Phrase.
8.1. Consists of a gerund (verb+ing) and modifiers or other words associated with the gerund. It acts as a noun in a sentence.
9. Appositive Phrase.
9.1. An appositive is a noun or noun phrase that renames another noun right beside it. The appositive can be a short or long combination of words.
