2. Pathology
2.1. สาเหตุของรกลอกตัวก่อนกำหนด ไม่ทราาบชัดเจน แต่เชื่อว่าเกิดจากความผิดปกติเกี่ยวเส้นเลื่อด เช่นการหดรัดตัวของเส้นเลือด หรืออาจเกิดจาก sheering force จาก abdominal trauma หรือ ในรายที่เป็นแฝดน้ำ หรือน้ำคร่ำเยอะ ทำให้เลือดออกระหว่างชั้น decidua และ placenta ส่งผลทำให้ลดพื้นที่แลกเปลี่ยนแก็ส และสารอาหารระหว่างมารดาและทารก หากกระบวนนี้ดำเนินต่อไป ส่งผลทำให้เกิดภาวะ fetal hypoxia และ fetal death ในที่สุด

8.1. 1.Revealed hemorrhage or external hemorrhage พบได้ร้อยละ 80
8.1.1. ภาวะรกลอกตัวแบบเปิดเผย เห็นเลือดไหลออกมาทางช่องคลอดชัดเจน ทำให้วินิจฉัยโรคได้ชัดเจน
8.2. 2.Convealed hemorrhage or internal hemorrhage พบได้ร้อยละ 20
8.2.1. ภาวะรกลอกแบบไม่เปิดเผย เลือดที่ออกจะเซาะอยู่หลังรก ไม่เซาะ ไม่ไหลออกมาทางช่องคลอดชัดเจน
