1.1. Definition: A type of assessment that formally gauges where a student falls on the mastery spectrum throughout the year.

2.1. Definition: A type of assessment that is given at the end of a section of learning to assess mastery.
2.1.1. Examples: Chapter Test, End of Year Exam, End of Unit Projects

3.1. A type of assessment that happens on the spot that is used to give instant feedback and drive instruction.
3.1.1. Examples: Exit Tickets, Four Corners, KWLA Charts
