1. Technology May Not Be Available for All of Their Students/Clients at Home
1.1. Not all patients/students will have access to technology at home
1.1.1. Not having access at home can make assignments nearly impossible to complete
1.1.1.1. Not completing assignments can setback a student/patient from succeeding
1.1.1.1.1. When a client feels unmotivated in a session together they will struggle to complete work
1.2. Solution:
1.2.1. Ensure that all clients have some sort of technology access at home
1.2.1.1. Ensure they also have internet access
1.2.1.1.1. If both are available, a client will be able to complete assignments, if not an SLP must adapt
2. Limited Funds
2.1. Having limited funds makes it difficult for SLP's to provide the latest technology to their clients/students.
2.1.1. Not having the latest technology can make it difficult for SLP's to create lessons that are in tune with the current events
2.1.1.1. Having outdated lesson plans can cause setbacks within clients and their peers
2.1.1.1.1. When a child feels that their peers are smarter than them, they may become insecure
2.2. Solution:
2.2.1. SLP's can become advocates for their students/patients
2.2.1.1. When budgets are being discussed an SLP must step up and explain the importance of being able to provide technology to their clients
2.2.1.1.1. If the SLP is successful in obtaining funds from the budget than they have succeed, if not they must find a new way
3. Struggles With Understanding Technology
3.1. Personal struggles can affect an SLP's patients/students
3.1.1. A patient/student can become less adaptable to technology
3.1.1.1. Being able to adjust to the world of ever-changing technology is a must for children today
3.1.1.1.1. If a patient/student is less adaptable they may struggle to adapt to the modern world
3.2. Solution:
3.2.1. SLP'S must take time to gain personal experience with technology
3.2.1.1. This in-turn with personally help to strengthen their skills and benefit their patients/students
3.2.1.1.1. Being able to help a patient/student adjust to modern day technology usage will set them up for success
