Validity & Reliability

1. Predictive validity: is a measure of how well a test predicts abilities. It involves testing a group of subjects for a certain construct and then comparing them with results obtained at some point in the future. Educational test are used to predict future performance. Having substantial predictive validity evidence symbolizes the worth of a test
1.1. Construct validity defines how well a test or experiment measures up to its claims. A test designed to measure high order thinking skills must only measure that construct.
1.1.1. Reliability-Reliability is the extent to which an assessment tools are dependable in producing stable and consistent results. There are different methods of estimating reliability such as, test–retest, alternative form , and internal consistency. Reliability ensures that performance is not affected by measurement error.
