Butterflies

1. Science: Learn about how caterpillars change to butterflies, learn some of the most common butterfly types

2. Writing: Write out "butterfly", discuss butterflies they have seen and (children this age are just learning to write, I'm putting more emphasis on fine motor skills and communication)

3. Technology: Watch time-lapse of caterpillars changing into butterflies, watch a video on how butterflies eat

4. Blocks: Use blocks to build a house for the (fake) butterflies, use blocks to build a butterfly

5. Cooking: "Cook" for the butterflies (sugar/honey water), make a snack that looks like a butterfly

6. Art: Color our own butterflies, Cut out our own butterflies (folding paper in half then cut)

7. Math: Count how many butterflies, use numbers to make butterflies (big 3's for the wings, 1 for the body, etc)

8. Home Living: Look for butterflies in yard, go to a butterfly room with real butterflies

9. Outdoors: Look for butterflies, use a butterfly net to see if we can catch one to look at

10. Games: Use a game blower and nets to "catch butterflies", make paper butterflies and see who's can fly the furthest
