1. Passive Immunity
1.1. Premade antibodies from animal or human
1.2. Immediate but short-acting protection
1.2.1. Immunoglobulin therapies
1.2.1.1. Measles (rubella)
1.2.1.2. Pertussis (whooping cough)
1.2.1.3. Hepatitis B
1.2.1.4. Chicken Pox (varicella)
1.2.1.5. Tetanus
1.2.2. Newborn babies
1.2.2.1. Antibodies cross the placenta
1.2.2.2. Breastmilk/colostrum

2.1. Active: Body WILL produce antibodies and memory cells!
2.1.1. Active: Long term protection!
2.2. Passive: Body WILL NOT produce antibodies and memory cells!
2.2.1. Passive: Short term protection!
3. Naturally Acquired Active Immunity
3.1. Invading viruses and bacteria act as antigen
3.1.1. Body creates an immune response/antibodies to antigen
3.1.1.1. Ex. Measles immunity after infection
4. Artificially Acquired Active Immunity
4.1. Killed or weakened viruses act as the antigen
4.1.1. After being administered to client, memory B cells "remember" antigen in the future when detected
4.1.1.1. Think immunizations!
4.1.1.1.1. Influenza
4.1.1.1.2. COVID
4.1.1.1.3. Pneumonia
4.1.1.1.4. TDAP
