3.1. Needle, Rubber tube and satellite bag

4. Preparation of blood
4.1. Hgb < 7 g/dl in an asymptomatic patient.
4.2. Hgb <10 g/dl in cases of an increased risk of ischemia.
4.3. Blood cross matching
4.4. light spin - short with low rpm(2000)
4.5. heavy spin - longer spin with high rpm(3500)
5. Preparation of plasma
5.1. Human blood plasma which is frozen within 8hrs less than -18 degree celcius.
5.2. Vacutainer tubes containing anticoagulant (EDTA)
5.3. Serological pipettes of appropriate volume (sterile)
5.4. Centrifuge tubes and benchtop centrifuge
5.5. Cryovials
5.6. Stored at 1to 6 degree celcius and transfused within 24 hours.
5.7. Needs to be ABO compatible
6. Labelling
6.1. ISBT labelling
