Technology 作者: Mind Map: Technology

1. Thoughts on Technology (Agar, 2020, para. 15).

1.1. Before the Module I thought technology was any device or machine electrical that is made to improve, and make life easier. For example, cell phone, automatic teller machine, Global Positioning system etc.

1.2. After reading through this module I would say anything and everything is technology as long as the task or product is complete and useful to enhance and improve situations. For example, a door as long as something like the design or the material was improved it is considered technology.

1.3. My idea of technology has change now that I have studied that everything is technology as it is the result of applying knowledge to make something or the process to complete a task

2. Why Do we need technologies (Schatzberg, 2006, para. 2).

2.1. Human beings need technology to enhance and use in their daily lives. It helps to achieve what they would like on a daily basis or in long term.

2.2. Technology can improve lives through

2.2.1. Communication

2.2.1.1. Through the use of phones, tablets, and computers people can send messages instantly and get a response or call without the process being time consuming and tedious.

2.2.2. Construction

2.2.2.1. Houses, Hospitals, schools, offices and other infrastructures are being built to provide shelter and service to persons who require them.

2.2.3. Energy

2.2.3.1. Energy helps in the process of providing the services. This may include oil, water or wind to provide power to the infrastructures being built.

2.2.4. Transportation

2.2.4.1. Transportation is needed to move people and things from one location to another.

2.2.5. Manufacturing

2.2.5.1. Some goods and products such as food, clothing, cars, papers, pens need to be manufactured before we can use them.

2.2.6. Agriculture

2.2.6.1. Planting, reaping plants, and raring animals are needed for human consumption.

3. What is Technology (Thierer, 2014, paras. 8-10)

3.1. The practical application of knowledge

3.1.1. Nurses need to apply their knowledge to use their skills, so that they are able to help patients in the best way possible.

3.2. The process in which a task is being completed

3.2.1. The process of sewing a blanket is technological, using the sewing machine in addition to the knowledge and skill that must be applied to shape the material.

3.3. "the specialized aspects of a particular field of endeavor"

3.3.1. Agrotechnology in agriculture is using machines and devices that that enables the farmer to get a large portion of the job done in a shorter period and is also cost effective.

4. Constitution of Technology

4.1. Technology should worth it for both seller and target market

4.1.1. Technological Transfer (Kumar et al., 1999, p. 87).

4.1.1.1. Technology absorption capacity

4.1.1.1.1. the buyer's capability to get technical knowledge from outside sources

4.1.1.2. Government Support

4.1.1.2.1. The government can provide opportunities to improve technological infrastructure

4.1.2. Technological Capabilities

4.1.2.1. Investment Capability

4.1.2.1.1. Skills and resources needed to recognize a "feasible investment projects, locate and purchase suitable technologies" (Kumar et al., 1999, p. 85).

4.1.2.2. Operational Capability

4.1.2.2.1. Skills and resources needed to "to operate, maintain, repair and adapt the technology for increased production and efficiency"(Kumar et al., 1999, p. 85).

4.1.2.3. Dynamic Learning Capability

4.1.2.3.1. Skills and resources need to know why and when to use the technology (Kumar et al., 1999, p. 86).

4.1.3. Economic Performance (Kumar et al., 1999, p. 87).

4.1.3.1. Transfer Model.

4.1.3.1.1. How can the technology be transferred between the seller and the buyer

4.1.3.2. Target audience learning culture

4.1.3.2.1. The type of training that will be needed to use the technology. "in-house training programs; learning-by-doing; strong networking between various units of the firm; and strong linkages with local suppliers, clients, other firms, industry networks, research institutes, governments, universities, financial institutions, and local or foreign consultants"
