1. Symbolic interactionism is a way in sociology that lays the foundation of social reality for interindividual interactions (from the English interaction – interaction), taken in their symbolic (linguistic) expression.
2. The founder of this direction is the American philosopher, sociologist George Herbert Mead. He considered the basis of symbolic interactionism (interaction) between people, which involves the exchange of symbols and gestures.
3. Symbolic interactionism occurs in such cases as: People, interacting with each other, are guided, first of all, by the symbolic meanings with which they endow certain objects; Symbols themselves are a product of social interaction between individuals; The emergence and change of symbolic meanings occurs through the interpretation and redefinition of symbols.
4. Basics of symbolic interactionism: ability to think, social interaction, meanings and symbols, actions and interactions, interpretation of the situation, modifications and changes, formation of groups and society.
5. Symbolic interactionism in sociology is our attitude to a particular subject. It is based on our social interactions. For example, different people treat different things differently, and their influence in our lives is also different.Such as Culture, Customs and Traditions. One example is our attitude to dogs, for example. For someone, the word dog is associated with warm feelings and friendship. For someone else who has had a bad experience with a dog. There will be fear and disgust. And another example is the attitude of people to different animals.A resident of India may feel a sense of devotion to a cow due to the fact that this animal is considered sacred in their religion. 14:33
