Poverty

1. Problem (Why this issue important)

1.1. 689 million people live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $1.90 a day.

1.2. Children and youth account for two-thirds of the world's poor, and women represent a majority in most regions.

1.3. 11.4 percent of America's is in poverty

2. People working to make a change

2.1. Bill Gates- He has donated 50 million dollars to poverty to help them get more food

2.2. Oxfam International- This is an organization that people can donate to the organization and there money goes to the poverty.

2.3. Ban Ki-moon- He was the general of United Nations and his first goal was to try to end poverty

3. Idea's for solutions

3.1. Create jobs- Creating new jobs would allow people to make money and this will get people out of poverty

3.2. Educate kids- If we allow people in poverty to go to school then they would be able to get a degree and able to work at better jobs and make more money

3.3. Ensure basic healthcare- If we give them healthcare then they will be safer because they don't have enough money to afford healthcare
