1. Formative

1.1. Formative assessments are more informal and occur during lessons or units. These assessments are not used to evaluate but rather adjust instruction to meet the updated needs of students.

2.1. Summative assessments are given at the end of a unit or grading period to summarize and evaluate the knowledge of each student.

3.1. Performance Assessments have students apply an integration of content knowledge, skills, and real life application to create a product. This can be a graph, a presentation, or a portfolio to represent their integration of skills. 7.1. Interim assessments are used to evaluate a student's progress so far, rather than at the end like summative. These assessments are used to adjust instruction if needed, but also they are a predictor of how students are likely to perform on summative assessments.
