1. Input Devices

1.1. "Any computer peripheral that you might use to enter data into the computer." (Lever-Duffy, 2011) This is anything that is connected to a computer

1.1.1. Example: Keyboard. This input device enables the user to type in information to a computer. This helps with word processing, writing emails, writing directions, etc. One of the challenges associated with it that I have had is what buttons get stuck or come lose, especially on laptops. This seems to be a common problem.

2. Output Devices

2.1. "The pieces of hardware that move information (data that have been processed) out of the computer." (Lever-Duffy, 2011)

2.1.1. Example: Monitor/Projector. These output devices allow educators to share information electronically, also known as a "soft copy" (Lever-Duffy, 2011). The nice thing about these is that a teacher can show information on a screen without having to print 100 or so copies. This can save a school district money. One of the downfalls of this is there are times when a bulb will go out, meaning a teacher cannot show information until it is replaced. These can be very costly and take time to order.
