1. After Liesel turns 14, her and Rosa get news that Hans is coming home because of a leg injury. This brings excitement and happiness.

2. 6. HANS GETS CONSCRIPTED

2.1. After Hans gives a Jewish man a piece of bread on the day of "The Parade of Jews", he is scared of Nazi's. He then throws Max out, and not so long after gets conscripted because he fed a Jewish person.

3. 7. HANS COMES HOME

4. 8. LIESEL GIVES AWAY HER BOOKS

4.1. Liesel decides to give away her books to the library, then Ilsa gives her a blank book. Liesel begins to write her journey and calls it "The Book Thief".

5. 9. HIMMEL STREET GETS BOMBED

5.1. While Liesel is in the basement writing away, a bombing happens and everyone she knew and loved died. She throws the book (which gets picked up by death) and goes into custody of Ilsa.

6. 10. A HAPPY ENDING

6.1. In the end, we found out Liesel dies after living a long and happy life. We also find out that her and Max got reconnected in the end. It was a happy ending after all!

7. 1. WERNER DIES

7.1. At her brothers funeral Liesel stole her first book "The Grave Diggers Handbook", even though she cant read.

8. 2. LIESEL STARTS SCHOOL

8.1. At school, Liesel meets her soon to be best friend Rudy, as well as partners in crime! They end up stealing books together later on and even fall in love.

9. 3. HANS FINDS "THE GRAVEDIGGERS HANDBOOK"

9.1. When Hans finds "The Gravediggers Handbook" in Liesel's room, it inspires him to teach Liesel how to read. When she learns to write she starts to write letters to her mom, who we soon find out is missing!

10. 4. LIESEL HATES HITLER

10.1. Liesel finds out Hitler is behind her mother and father's disappearance. She begins to hate Hitler, which is bad for a young German girl. This hatred is one of the reason she steals her second book "The Shoulder Shrug".

11. 5. HANS HIDES MAX

11.1. Hiding a Jewish person in World War 2 is extremely dangerous, but it shows how brave and caring Hans is. It also brings out a caring side of Rosa.
