2. Scoring System

2.1. 1-10 rating scale in .5 increments

2.1.1. 0: Completely Failed

2.1.1.1. -After a warning, takes more than one minute to begin dive -Double bounce -Performs a different dive than announced -Feet enter water before head or hands in a head first dive -Hands hit the water before feet in a feet first dive -Assistance is given after approach is begun -A second attempt after a balk is unsuccessful -Refusal to execute a dive -Final step in front approach is not from one foot -Take-off from springboard is not from both feet

2.1.2. ½ - 2: Unsatisfactory 2½ - 4½: Deficient 5 - 6½: Satisfactory 7 - 8: Good 8½ - 9½: Very good 10: Excellent

2.2. 3 judges scores kept (drop high/low) = raw score

2.3. Balk (2 point deduction; 6 points off raw score)

2.3.1. False start

2.3.2. Illegal take-off

2.4. raw score X degree of difficulty = points for dive

2.5. Winner has highest total points for all dives
