Quantitative Outline
作者:Terrance Burgess
1. Quantitative takes hypothesis and tests it against empirical evidence so that it can be rejected or accepted, which is deductive.
2. Variables
2.1. IV: variable that causes a change in the other variable
2.2. DV: variable that is measured after the manipulation of the IV.
3. AIM: to see if one variable - noise - has an effect on another variable - recall of information.
4. Hypothesis: a prediction of how IV affects DV 2 Types: experimental, null
5. Goal: The goal of an experiment is to establish a cause-and-effect relationship between two variables.
6. Quantitative Research generates numerical data (which is considered the better way of doing research by some).
