1. Andreas Henn DOG EAR FILMS: Great

1.1. I also enjoyed watching the German comedy film Great. I was fascinated by the use of lighting on the character’s faces to portray their emotions. I was also even more fascinated by the fact that the entire film was based on a true story. Great was based on the true story of Nikolas Redosovic, a German film and what the Nazis thought when they encountered a famous Charlie Chaplin movie, The Dictator.

2. Martin Ahlin: Infringe

2.1. This film was absolutely chilling to watch. The story of a blind woman, Laura's, touch sends an impulse on another person. An impulse to do something really bad. The close ups of Laura and the blade, kept me on the edge of my seat and in some occasions, looking away hoping the blade would not meet her eye. The atmosphere is silent and I can only hear her heavy sighs and breaths, I can tell she is pleading and begging for mercy but she doesn't say a word, which shows how vulnerable she is. The actress who played Laura, Nadine Petri, did a believable and realistic performance which looked extremely challenging playing as a blind woman. Witnessing her bumping into furniture, tripping over her guitar, makes the audience feel a lot of sympathy for her which was the director, Ahlin's intentions when portraying this character.

3. Christine Hooper's: On Loop

3.1. I enjoyed the creative elements of On Loop by the film creator Christine Hooper. The way she combines stop motion animation with real life cinematography was very innovative and effective. Sound was affective as well, when they muffled her voice and the volume was brought down as the main character inserts her ear plugs. I found it very entertaining to watch as well. She narrates her daily routine to the audience, but we do not see her face. The entire film is seen as the character’s P.O.V, which makes it engaging to watch. We can access her thoughts and feelings and repeating the same things we see repetitively, hence the title, "On Loop."
