1. Biography: Frank Lloyd Wright was an architect born in 1867, living in both war periods which highly influenced his desings. FLR mentor was Louis Sullivan, and he refers to him as beloved master. In his period with Sullivan he adopted the term "organic" to his philosophy and apply it as a way of making the design and the nature one.
2. "organic architecture¨: Organic architecture goes beyond only being in harmony with the nature. It also includes the design and the function to have also harmony, and not being for example a bank that looks like a greek temple. From this way of organising the design a famous and representative quote from FLR is born: "form follows function". The organic term also is ment to respect the materials used. The idea of the organic is that everything is in harmony: the materials, the design, and the function to be coherent.
3. “So here I stand before you preaching organic architecture: declaring organic architecture to be the modern ideal and the teaching so much needed if we are to see the whole of life, and to now serve the whole of life, holding no ‘traditions’ essential to the great TRADITION. Nor cherishing any preconceived form fixing upon us either past, present or future, but—instead—exalting the simple laws of common sense—or of super-sense if you prefer—determining form by way of the nature of materials...” — Frank Lloyd Wright, An Organic Architecture, 1939
4. FLW changed the history of architecture, not only by the innovative designs, but also because of the braking of the Art Nouveau period changing the hole way architecture was made.
