1. Protein

1.1. Protein builds blocks used to form NT's and support structure for Neurons.

1.2. A well-being feeling is produced by a NT that comes from Tryptophan found in milk and turkey.

1.3. Enthusiasm is found in foods such as avocado, banana, meat, and almonds, which come from amino acids.

1.4. Proteins also form receptors, structures embedded in membranes that aid in cell communication.

2. Carbohydrate

2.1. The fuel for the brain is simply sugar.

2.1.1. Too much sugar causes burst of energy.

2.1.2. Then the body begins to fidget.

2.1.3. This causes headaches, trouble concentrating, and drowsiness.

2.2. The fuel for the brain is simply sugar.

2.3. Meals and snacks should contain complex carbohydrates.

2.3.1. Whole grain products.

3. Micronutrients

3.1. Micronutrients are important for the health of our brain, even if they are consumed in small amounts.

3.2. Vitamin B produces energy for brain cells.

3.3. Zinc helps with growth of dendrites, cell repair, and pruning.

3.4. Electrical environment of the brain is caused by the consumption of calcium.

4. Good Fats

4.1. Brain consists largely of fatty membranes

4.2. Of the solid matter in the brain, 60% is fat

4.3. Fat provides energy for the brain

5. Water

5.1. Water is essential for optimal brain health and function.

5.1.1. Necessary to maintain the tone of membranes

5.1.2. Enhances circulation and aids in removing wastes.

5.2. Neurons store water in tiny balloon-like structures called vacuoles.

5.3. Water keeps the brain from overheating

5.3.1. KPI's
